Context
Northgate Joinery is a concept redesign of a fictional business, not a client project. The scenario: a manufacturer of high-end architectural joinery, supplying architects, builders and private clients.
The work is visual, tactile and expensive. The website showed it in 300-pixel-wide thumbnails.
Problem
The site undersold the work badly. Photography was small and poorly presented, there was no clear route for architects versus homeowners, and enquiries came through a generic form that asked nothing useful. Architects specifying six-figure joinery packages were judging the workshop on thumbnails.
Approach
Lead with the work. Large, full-bleed project imagery becomes the primary content, with clear paths for the two audiences and a structured enquiry form that captures the detail the workshop needs to quote.
Design
A dark, material palette lets photography carry the page. Type is set large and sparingly. The layout gives each project room to breathe rather than cramming everything above the fold.
Result
The website now presents the joinery with the same care that goes into making it. Prospective clients can see the quality immediately and enquire with the right information first time.
