Context

Wexley & Marsh is a fictional business and this is a concept redesign, not a client project. The scenario: a well-regarded regional accountancy practice whose clients arrive almost entirely through referral.

Offline, a practice like this is established, trusted and growing. Online, a website built in 2011 and never meaningfully updated does nothing to support that reputation.

02

Problem

In the scenario, the existing site is slow, built on an old theme, and hard to read on a phone. Services are listed as a single wall of text. The partners' experience, which is the reason people hire a firm like this, is buried on a page nobody visits.

For a referral-led practice, a dated website risks undermining confidence before a prospect ever makes contact. That is the commercial cost this concept sets out to remove.

03

Approach

We started with the commercial question: what does a referred prospect need to see to feel confident enough to get in touch? The answer is clarity about who the firm works with, evidence of expertise, and a low-friction way to start a conversation.

The structure was rebuilt around sectors and services, with the people made visible throughout.

04

Design

A restrained typographic system, a warm neutral palette and generous space give the site the quiet confidence of an established practice. Photography would replace the placeholder panels shown here.

Every page ends with a clear, specific next step rather than a generic contact link.

05

Proposed outcome

A website designed to match the practice it represents: credible on first impression, easy to navigate, fast on any device, and built so the firm can keep it up to date without calling a developer.
